Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), paid a courtesy call on Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy in New Delhi on Friday, where the two held detailed discussions on coal production, dispatch, transportation, operational performance and the progress of the Jharia Master Plan.

During the meeting, Agarwal apprised the Union Minister of the status of rehabilitation of project-affected and displaced families under the Jharia Master Plan (JMP). He highlighted the various initiatives being implemented by BCCL to ensure effective rehabilitation while creating sustainable livelihood and income-generation opportunities for the affected families.

The CMD also briefed the Minister on the progress of BCCL’s major mining projects, coal production targets, dispatch performance, transportation logistics and measures being undertaken to improve operational efficiency. The discussions also focused on strengthening the coal supply chain, resolving operational bottlenecks in a time-bound manner and enhancing the company’s overall business performance.

The Union Minister reviewed the company’s operational progress and issued necessary directions on coal production, dispatch and mining operations. He also shared valuable guidance on improving resource utilisation, accelerating project implementation and ensuring uninterrupted coal supplies to key consuming sectors.

The meeting concluded with a positive and constructive discussion on BCCL’s long-term growth strategy, operational excellence and the effective implementation of key projects, including the Jharia Master Plan, aimed at enhancing productivity while ensuring sustainable development and social responsibility.
