CCL Corporate Salary Package Becomes Financial Lifeline: ₹1 Crore Accidental Death Benefit Handed Over to Deceased Employee’s Family – Indian PSU
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has reinforced its commitment to employee welfare by facilitating a ₹1 crore accidental death benefit for the family of a deceased employee under the Corporate Salary Package (CSP) offered in association with Punjab National Bank (PNB).
The cheque was handed over during a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the General Manager’s Unit in Kuju Area. The financial assistance was provided to the family of Late Basudev Mahato, who served as an Assistant (Grade-D) at the Karma Project in Kuju Area.
A cheque of ₹1 crore was formally presented to the deceased employee’s mother, Mrs. Bhokhari Devi, in the presence of senior officials from CCL and Punjab National Bank.
This marks the seventh successful settlement of an accidental death benefit claim under the Corporate Salary Package in CCL, underscoring the effectiveness of the scheme in providing crucial financial assistance to employees’ families during times of tragedy.
Senior CCL officials present at the event included Rajiv Kumar Sinha, General Manager, Kuju Area; Pallab Chakraborty, Head of Department (Personnel & Industrial Relations), CCL Headquarters; Ruby Ranjan, Chief Manager (Human Resources); Suchitra Mukherjee, Deputy Manager (Human Resources); Rameshwar Munda, Project Officer, Karma Project; and Sumit Pragya Sarangi, Staff Officer (Human Resources), Kuju Area.
Representing Punjab National Bank were Deepak Kumar Verma, Circle Head, Hazaribagh Circle; Rohit, Marketing Head; Ishak Barla, Branch Manager, Kuju Branch; Brahmand Saha, Branch Manager; and Binod Kumar, Circle Head, PNB MetLife, along with other bank officials.
During the programme, officials expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and emphasized that the Corporate Salary Package is much more than a banking service. They described it as a comprehensive financial protection mechanism that provides vital support to employees and their dependents in unforeseen circumstances.
They also encouraged employees to familiarize themselves with the various insurance and financial benefits available under the Corporate Salary Package to ensure maximum utilization of the welfare provisions. Both CCL and Punjab National Bank reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the interests of employees and their families through such employee-centric initiatives.
