Following a significant refurbishment, the Emirates Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) has officially reopened its doors. The space features seating for over 130 people, showers, and a sumptuous buffet.

Passengers flying with Emirates in first and business class are provided complimentary access to the space, which measures almost 7,000 square feet, as are eligible Emirates Skywards members. Located adjacent to Gate 40 on Level 7, the lounge features design touches to echo the sleek sophistication of the Emirates brand while providing a functional area for travelers to unwind and prepare for their next flight.

From booking to upgrades to dining, Emirates’ first class cabin defines the carrier’s ethos of “Fly Better.”
The refurbishment increased the capacity to 132 seats in various arrangements, from large chairs to cozy sofas. Complimentary WiFi is provided for all, and passengers can take advantage of on-site shower facilities and a dedicated prayer room.

The dining options have also been refreshed, with an extensive buffet featuring local and Oriental cuisine specialties alongside “irresistible” classic Hong Kong desserts.
Who can visit?
The redesigned space caters to passengers on Emirate’s two daily direct flights from Hong Kong to Dubai International Airport (DBX) and the third daily service via Bangkok. The lounge is open daily from 15:30 to 00:30, allowing passengers to arrive roughly three hours before the day’s first flight and remain open till just before the midnight departure.
The carrier’s Airbus A380 superjumbos currently operates one of the daily Dubai flights and the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) rotation. The second daily Dubai service, which began last year, is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. The departures are as follows:

Feeding into these flights are passengers connecting in Hong Kong. Emirates has interline agreements with Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines, among others. Passengers flying in economy or premium economy may also access the lounge, provided they are Emirates Skywards Platinum or Gold members.

Elsewhere in Hong Kong, Emirates recently expanded its complimentary Chauffeur-drive service to include business class passengers. Combined with dedicated check-in counters, the service is poised to ensure a more seamless travel experience for upper-class passengers on the airline.
Alternative options at Hong Kong International
Not flying in first or buisness class? Fear not; Hong Kong Airport is home to quite a few lounges. Home carrier Cathay Pacific maintains five lounges across the airport, while third-party operator Plaza Premium has four. Hong Kong Airlines passengers can visit Club Altus, and Qantas passengers also have a dedicated lounge. Star Alliance passengers can also visit the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge near gate 5.
