NTPC Limited’s Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station successfully concluded Fire Service Week 2026, held from April 14 to April 20, with a series of impactful initiatives aimed at strengthening fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness.

The week-long observance paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of firefighters while engaging employees, families, and the local community through demonstrations, training sessions, and awareness campaigns. Activities were conducted across schools, offices, and residential areas, focusing on fire prevention, proper use of firefighting equipment, and safe evacuation practices.

A major highlight of the closing ceremony was a live emergency drill conducted by personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The demonstration simulated evacuation during a hazardous gas contamination scenario, showcasing the importance of swift, coordinated, and disciplined responses in crisis situations.

In addition to technical drills, first aid and firefighting training sessions were organized, alongside competitions such as quizzes, essay writing, and drawing. These events witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, contract workers, school children, CISF personnel, and their families. Winners were felicitated during the closing ceremony.

The concluding event was graced by Sanjib Kumar Saha, CGM (Vindhyachal), in the presence of Manish Kumar Rai, Senior Commandant (CISF) and Sada Ram Yadav, Deputy Commandant (CISF). Senior officials of NTPC Vindhyachal, including heads of operations, maintenance, HR, and safety, were also present.

The successful observance of Fire Service Week reflects NTPC Vindhyachal’s continued commitment to fostering a strong culture of safety, preparedness, and community awareness.
