RECPDCL, BSPTCL Sign MoU to Boost Bihar’s Power Transmission Infrastructure – Indian PSU

In a significant step toward strengthening Bihar’s power infrastructure, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) for the development of intra-state transmission projects through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mode.

The initiative aims to build a modern, reliable, and future-ready power transmission network to support Bihar’s growing energy demand and industrial expansion.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Bihar’s Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal, Ajay Yadav, Energy Secretary and CMD of BSPHCL, Prince Dhawan, Chief Executive Officer of RECPDCL, and Rahul Kumar, Managing Director of BSPTCL, along with senior officials from RECPDCL, the Energy Department of the Bihar Government, BSPTCL, and BSPHCL.

Addressing the gathering, Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal emphasized that the initiative will play a crucial role in advancing Bihar’s industrial growth vision for 2025–30. He noted that robust and efficient power transmission infrastructure is essential to support upcoming industries and ensure seamless electricity supply across the state.

The partnership is expected to enhance transparency in project allocation through competitive bidding, accelerate execution timelines, and modernize the state’s transmission network. It will also encourage greater private sector participation and investment, contributing to the creation of a resilient, power-secure, and economically vibrant Bihar.
