RINL Marks International Day Of Forests And Swachhta Pakhwada With Innovative Plantation And Cleanliness Drive – Indian PSU
On the occasion of the International Day of Forests, observed annually on March 21st, and as part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada, from March 16th to 31st, 2024, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) took a significant step towards environmental stewardship by organizing a cleanliness program and mass plantation initiative near Township Areas of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Aligned with the theme of “Forest and innovation,” RINL implemented the latest plantation methods to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiative. This included the utilization of innovative techniques such as proper spacing, hybrid species selection, and the incorporation of in-house produced vermicompost and bio-fertilizers, aimed at fostering better growth and survival rates for the planted saplings.
A total of 125 coconut saplings were strategically planted in the vicinity, symbolizing RINL’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The plantation and cleanliness drive were led by officials from the Agro Forestry Section of the Town Administration Department of RINL, in collaboration with dedicated contract workers.
