UrbanV and Pax Aeroportos have signed an agreement to co-develop and integrate vertiport infrastructure at Campo de Marte Airport in São Paulo and Jacarepaguá Airport in Rio de Janeiro, positioning both sites as key gateways for Advanced Air Mobility in Brazil.
The partnership combines UrbanV’s international expertise in vertiport network design and operations with Pax Aeroportos’ strong operational footprint and long-term vision for urban aviation infrastructure. Together, the companies aim to support the development of scalable and integrated AAM networks across Brazil, leveraging existing airport assets while enabling future expansion.
The agreement builds on an ongoing collaboration that began with the establishment of a regulatory sandbox at Campo de Marte, developed in cooperation with ANAC, Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency. This initiative marked an important step in testing and shaping the regulatory and operational frameworks required for next-generation urban air mobility services.
Campo de Marte is expected to act as a central node within the São Paulo metropolitan area. The airport offers hangar capacity and the potential to connect high-demand locations such as major international airports, Faria Lima, Alphaville, Campinas and Santos. In Rio de Janeiro, Jacarepaguá is set to play a comparable role, serving the western part of the city and enabling future connections to Copacabana, Niterói and the city’s main airports, while building on its established position within Brazil’s executive and helicopter aviation ecosystem.
The collaboration reflects a shared ambition to advance urban air mobility solutions in Brazil by integrating vertiports into existing airport environments and creating a foundation for future projects.
“This agreement strengthens our presence in one of the most strategic markets for Advanced Air Mobility. Together with Pax Aeroportos, we are building the foundations for future air mobility networks in Brazil, starting from airports that already play a central role in urban aviation,” said Ivan Bassato, Chairman of UrbanV.
“Operating two of Brazil’s most strategic urban airports, we see Advanced Air Mobility as a natural evolution of urban aviation,” said Rogerio Augusto Prado, CEO of Pax. “This partnership with UrbanV allows us to build on our strong presence in Brazil while exploring new opportunities to integrate next-generation air mobility solutions into our airports and the cities they serve.”
Through this agreement, UrbanV and Pax Aeroportos have unveiled initial AAM network concepts for São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, designed to connect key urban, business and regional destinations using next-generation air mobility infrastructure.
