has announced two exciting additions to its European network: a new route to Munich
and the resumption of flights to Brussels
. Both services will commence in the summer of 2025 and will connect Hong Kong directly to these significant European cities, further strengthening the airline’s presence in Europe. These new routes reflect Cathay Pacific’s ongoing commitment to offering its customers more travel options and greater convenience across its expanding global network.
Munich: bridging Hong Kong with Germany’s economic powerhouse
Commencing on June 16, 2025, Cathay Pacific will operate four weekly direct flights between Hong Kong and Munich. This marks the airline’s second destination in Germany, complementing its existing daily flights to Frankfurt
. Munich, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and status as a leading economic and manufacturing hub, offers significant opportunities for both business and leisure travelers.
Passengers can leverage Cathay Pacific’s extensive network via the Hong Kong hub to access numerous Asia-Pacific destinations. Additionally, partnerships with European carriers will facilitate seamless travel beyond Munich to other European cities.

Brussels: reestablishing links with Belgium’s capital
Starting August 3, 2025, Cathay Pacific will reinstate its direct flights to Brussels, operating four times weekly. Brussels, the capital of Belgium, serves as a major political center and transport nexus in Europe. The renewed service aims to strengthen ties between Asia and Europe, catering to the needs of both business and leisure travelers.

Enhanced passenger experience on Airbus A350-900
Both routes will be serviced by the advanced Airbus A350-900
aircraft, featuring a three-class configuration:
- Business class: 38 seats that convert into fully flat beds, offering optimal comfort for long-haul travelers.
- Premium economy class: 28 seats designed to provide extra space and enhanced amenities.
- Economy class: 214 seats engineered for comfort and efficiency.

Strategic expansion in Europe
Lavinia Lau, Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the new routes, saying:
“We are delighted to introduce Munich to our network and to return to Brussels, bringing our European destinations to 11. Hong Kong’s status as a premier international financial, trade, and aviation hub is further solidified by these new connections.”
Cathay Pacific has a longstanding presence in Europe, operating direct flights for over 40 years. In the upcoming summer season, the airline plans to increase its weekly flights to Europe from 78 to 93, offering greater flexibility and convenience for travelers. Destinations include London (five daily flights), Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris, Zurich (each with daily flights), and Madrid and Barcelona (each with four weekly flights, with Barcelona operating seasonally).

Comprehensive connectivity
Travelers from Europe can take advantage of Cathay Pacific’s extensive network through the Hong Kong hub, accessing numerous destinations across the Asia-Pacific region. This includes 19 cities in Mainland China, serviced by Cathay Pacific and its low-cost subsidiary, HK Express
.
The Cathay Pacific Group aims to expand its passenger network to 100 destinations by 2025, underscoring its commitment to connecting the world through Hong Kong.
