South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has taken a significant step towards strengthening coal logistics and rail transportation infrastructure by signing an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) for a strategic partnership.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal, SECL has been consistently working towards enhancing coal evacuation capacity and strengthening the logistics network to ensure uninterrupted coal supply to key sectors such as power, steel, cement, and other core industries. The partnership with CWC marks another important initiative in this direction.
As part of the agreement, both organizations will collaborate in areas such as railway rake provisioning, dedicated rail logistics, multimodal transportation, first-mile and last-mile connectivity, and digital logistics monitoring.
SECL is currently the second-largest coal-producing company in the country. In FY 2026-27, SECL made the highest contribution towards Coal India Limited crossing the 100 million tonne production milestone, with production exceeding 26.8 million tonnes.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, SECL, and Shri Santosh Sinha, Managing Director, CWC.
On this occasion, senior SECL officials including N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical/Operations), Darla Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance), R. C. Mahapatra, Director (Technical/P&P), Ashok Kumar Patnaik, General Manager (Siding), and Ajit Chaudhary, General Manager (M&S)/Head of Department, were present.
Representing CWC, K. K. Panda, General Manager (Commercial), Anurag Pagare, Regional Manager, Raipur, and P. K. Kalo, General Manager (Business), Raipur, were also present during the signing ceremony.
