This week, Delta Sky Club members got their first look at the newly renovated and enlarged Sky Club at Miami International Airport, which was unveiled on Tuesday. Bigger and Better in Miami
On April 9, Delta Air Lines (Delta) revealed its newly expanded Miami Sky Club Lounge, inspired by Miami’s bright colors and sunny beaches. The design’s new mosaic pays homage to the city’s classic Art Deco architecture, while the chosen colors reflect the nearby turquoise waters, blue sky and white and gold accents often seen in south Florida designs.

With an additional 4,000 square feet and more than 100 extra seats, capacity has increased by more than 50%, and the Sky Club is ready to welcome around 300 guests to the 12,000-square-foot lounge. Vice President – Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience, Claude Roussel, said:
“Miami is an important global transport hub, with increasing prominence in the Delta network. The expansion and renovation of the MIA Club helps us support the growth in this market and elevates the lounge experience to one suited to the profile of this vibrant city.”

Adding an extra 100 guests means the lounge needs to add more facilities to accommodate them, and the Miami lounge features a new service buffet and additional beverage station to support the increased patronage. The lounge’s seating has been refurbished to match the elevated look of the newly added space.

Seating has been given special attention and is tailored to the business traveler’s needs, with single-seat dining tables, a communal table with a charging source in the center, and power outlets at almost every seat. From those comfortable seats, guests of the Sky Club will enjoy a view of the H Concourse below from the expansion space.
A growing presence at MIA
The refurbished Sky Club comes at a good time for Delta passengers. This summer, the airline will offer 34 peak-day flights from Miami International to 12 destinations, including international service to Havana, Cuba. All services will be operated on Delta mainline equipment, and premium classes will be offered on all flights.

In December, Delta will add daily service to Seattle-Tacoma International, and its domestic routes from Miami will include all nine of its domestic hubs, along with Raleigh, Orlando, and Washington, DC. The domestic hubs include Atlanta ATL, Boston BOS, LaGuardia LGA, New York JFK, Minneapolis-Saint Paul MSP, Detroit DTW, Los Angeles LAX, Salt Lake City SLC and Seattle-Tacoma SEA.
The expansion in Miami starts a year of growth for Delta lounges, with two new Sky Clubs opening in Charlotte and Seattle and three Delta One Lounges opening at New York JFK, Los Angeles LAX, and Boston Logan International. Delta will open five new lounges in 2024, adding more than 2,700 seats to its lounge network between 2023 and this year.
