IOCL Officers’ Association Writes to PM Modi Again, Seeks Appointment of Director (Pipelines) & Director (R&D) – Indian PSU
The Indian Oil Officers’ Association (IOOA) has once again appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the appointment of a full-time Director (Refineries) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the country’s largest oil marketing company and a Maharatna PSU.
The latest representation underscores the Association’s long-pending demand for filling the crucial board-level position, which it believes is vital for ensuring effective leadership and operational excellence across IOCL’s extensive refining business.
Notably, this is not the first time the Association has raised the issue. The IOOA had earlier written to the Prime Minister on April 29, 2026, seeking intervention for the appointment of Director (Refineries). Almost about three months later, the Association has once again approached the Prime Minister, reiterating its concern over the prolonged vacancy and urging the government to take an early decision in the larger interest of the organisation.
According to the Association, the Director (Refineries) plays a critical role in steering the corporation’s refining operations, overseeing capacity expansion, driving technological upgrades, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting India’s energy security objectives.
The renewed appeal comes at a time when IOCL is undertaking significant investments in refinery modernisation, petrochemical integration, cleaner fuel production, and energy transition initiatives, making the presence of a dedicated functional director even more significant.
The Indian Oil Officers’ Association has expressed hope that the Government will give due consideration to its request and expedite the appointment process.
