Qantas has unveiled special Christmas liveries on two of its aircraft – a Boeing 737 and a QantasLink Q400 Dash-8 – as well as new inflight and lounge menus. The Dash-8 has been called “Dasher-8”, while the 737 will fly as “Roo-dolph,” and any passengers lucky enough to be flying on one of these aircraft this month will earn double points.

The Australian carrier got into the festive spirit with its two new liveries featuring Santa Claus and his all-important gifts. It will also paint one of Qantas Freight’s A321s with a ‘Santa’s Freight’ livery in the coming weeks, with the freighter set to deliver thousands of presents and other festive items during the Christmas period.

Qantas Frequent Flyers also stand to get an early Christmas present should they fly on Dasher-8 (registration: VH-QON) or Roo-dolph (registration: VH-VZX) this month by doubling their Qantas Points for that journey. Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer Catriona Larritt said,
“We know our customers, especially the youngest ones, love flying on our special festive aircraft and so we are delighted they are making a return in 2024. Our teams have been working hard over several months to prepare our operations to be ready to help millions of customers to see their family and friends throughout the holiday season.”

The airline has also lined up other festive-themed installations and pop-ups within the next month, as well as promising some “surprise and delight gifting” for its customers.
Qantas has rolled out a number of new festive menus across its network – this will include international first and business inflight menus, a new First lounge menu, and a range of independent beers and cocktails both onboard and in lounges. The new menus were designed by Neil Perry, Qantas Creative Director of Food, Beverage and Service, and will feature ingredients from premium Australian companies, including Margra Lamb, Glacier 51 Toothfish, Wollemi Duck, Coppertree Farms Butter and Skull Island King Prawns.
