Airlines love their branding and liveries, and it’s hard to imagine any colors other than yellow and black with US low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines. Sometimes, we all have to recognize a higher cause means change, and for Spirit Airlines, that means adding some splashes of pink to their team member’s uniforms during October.
Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to visibly support the cause, Spirit Airlines (Spirit) is turning the skies pink with the debut of a special-edition uniform. Throughout the month, Spirit team members will wear the new PiNK collection as part of the airline’s commitment to advance breast cancer awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research.

Keen-eyed readers would have noticed the way PiNK is stylized, with its focus pointing to Spirit’s NK airline code. The collection features pink accents on dresses, cardigans, long and short-sleeve shirts, and pink accessories such as ties, belts, socks, scarves and pins.

It appears that Spirit team members love pink or just want to support such a worthy cause, as the special-edition uniforms sold out in under 24 hours. Additionally, with every purchase of the PiNK Collection’s pin, polo and cardigan by the Spirit Family, the Spirit Charitable Foundation will donate to BRCAStrong, a South Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the fight against breast cancer.
Spirit Airlines Senior Vice President of Inflight and Airport Experience, Dana Shapir Alviene, said the initiative is a sign of Spirit’s commitment to the cause, adding that serving the communities where we live and advancing meaningful causes like breast cancer awareness and research is why launching the PiNK Collection is such a significant milestone.
“Every opportunity to raise awareness makes a difference in the lives of so many of our Guests, Spirit Family Members and communities. With the debut of our PiNK Collection this year, we are taking our support to the next level.”

In the announcement on October 1, Spirit stressed that its commitment to breast cancer awareness extends beyond the new uniform collection and to the communities it serves. The airline is a proud sponsor of multiple causes, and some of those activities include:
- 2024 Miami International Airport (MIA) Runway 5K that benefits the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign.
- Through the Spirit Charitable Foundation, the airline continues its long-standing support for health organizations such as the Royal Dames of Cancer Research, Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research, Ronald McDonald House, Susan G. Komen, SknVue and Personal Ink.
